Technical Writer (VIC)

About the role: 12 Month Contract Position

We are seeking someone capable of working as a Technical Writer with the vision to mature our online and print Help. The Technical Writer will be able to interpret complex product solutions, presenting them in an appealing and simple way for end-users. With the ability to help the organisation mature across its processes and practices.

  • Work in close collaboration with product teams to produce technical and educational collateral that is easily understood and accurate.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other functional teams to ensure a frictionless user experience and continuous improvement of deliverables.
  • Adhere to all standards, guidelines, single-sourcing and best practices to be able to scale the documentation.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently or with other team members.
  • Actively solve problems and identify potential solutions to risks.
  • Be involved in product related end-user training activities as required.

About you

  • Demonstrated technical communication experience (minimum 2 years) preferably in a commercial business software environment.
  • Advanced skills using MadCap Flare, HTML, and CSS for online and print Help.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence as a communication/collaboration mechanism with stakeholders.
  • Highly computer literate with and understanding of operating systems and databases.
  • Good understanding of typical ERP business processes.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all documentation is detailed and precise so that every step in the instructions are useful.
  • Ability to convert technical procedures or product information into an easily consumable format
  • Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills, including skills in assertively managing outcomes for yourself and others, within prescribed timeframes.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Knowledge and understanding of business software development and ERP.
