We’re now seeking a Technical Consultant to drive excellence in our customer facing production team.
Reporting to the Production Team Lead and collaborating with our production/delivery team, our Developer – Technical Consultant works directly with customers to scope and document requirements, then delivers effective digital solutions within Pronto Woven’s product and solution suite.
Pronto Woven is the award-winning digital consultancy division of Pronto Software – an Australian developer of ERP and analytics software. The team’s innovative solutions transform customer and employee engagement across digital channels – extending the capabilities of Pronto Xi ERP and driving strategic change
Role Overview
We are seeking a Developer – Technical Consultant who is both customer-focused and skilled in hands-on development. In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges and define solution requirements.
- Develop, customise, and integrate software solutions using our Woven technology stack, ensuring they meet client needs.
- Provide clear documentation and communication to stakeholders and team members throughout the project lifecycle.
This position is suited to someone who values close engagement with customers to address real-world problems and who is accustomed to actively programming as part of the solution delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Development
- Approach solution design and system architecture with a holistic mindset, ensuring seamless integration across various platforms and technologies.
- Work on projects that may involve Ruby on Rails, HTML, JavaScript, Vue, and API integrations—previous experience is beneficial, but adaptability and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
- Translate project requirements into clearly defined user stories and deliverables, meeting objectives on time and within budget.
- Conduct thorough testing to maintain quality standards and prepare technical documentation such as release notes and user guides.
Consulting & Customer Engagement
- Meet with clients (including on-site visits) to gather requirements and document functional/technical needs.
- Work alongside stakeholders to translate business challenges into solutions that provide measurable value.
- Provide end-user training and support solution design sessions and pre-sales activities as require
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Engage with team members in stand-ups, planning sessions, and reviews to maintain alignment with company objectives.
- Participate in peer reviews to uphold code quality and validate overall solution effectiveness.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of team processes and methods.
- Maintain accurate time and billing records, ensuring project tasks are completed profitably.
About you
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- A degree or diploma in Digital, Software Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience delivering application projects.
- At least 3 years’ experience as part of a development team.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, HTML, and JavaScript
- Experience with the Vue framework
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems, integrated eCommerce platforms, and API-based integrations
- Beneficial: Experience with CMS applications
Consultative Mindset
- Demonstrated ability to engage with customers, gather requirements, and translate them into technically sound solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present solution designs.
Other Criteria
- Current driver’s licence and own vehicle (for occasional travel).
- Willingness to undertake interstate or overseas travel.
- Ability to pass a Police check.
- Professional presentation and adherence to company policies and security frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- The capability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and staying up to date with emerging technology trends.
