Godfreys implements Pronto Xi Cloud ERP

Godfreys Group (ASX: GFY), one of the largest specialty retailers of domestic and commercial floor care cleaning products in Australia and New Zealand, has chosen Pronto Software’s cloud ERP solution, as it seeks a more agile and scalable business management platform.

As an iconic Australian retailer for the past 80 years, Godfreys is today regarded as the experts in vacuum cleaners and associated cleaning products and offers an exclusive range of company-owned products and a number of third party brands.  Godfreys’ offering is distributed via 222 branded retail stores and the Group employs over 500 staff.

Following a review to clean up and overhaul its legacy ERP system, Godfreys was in the market for a next generation, future-proof business management platform that would have the flexibility to add customised functionality, and was scalable enough to manage the company’s growth. The business set out with a competitive tender process, seeking a partner to:

  • Provide a cloud-based, fully managed service on a 24/7 basis;
  • Provide an end-to-end, easy to use platform that manages all facets of the organisation from financials, warehouse and inventory to sales;
  • Be accessible to all staff members from any device, including desktops, tablets and mobile phones at anytime;
  • Deliver Business Intelligence functionality to allow for faster, more informed decision making;
  • Offer fast and seamless integration with third-party businesses.

Mark Norman, IT Manager, Godfreys, said: “We chose to partner with Pronto Software as they ticked all the boxes, demonstrating the ability to manage the whole product life cycle at Godfreys, as well as extract critical business information. As a sales business, it is important we have the right product in store to meet our sales teams and customer demands. Our supply chain is critical to the operation of the business and we needed a management platform that is very reliable and accessible all of the time. We reviewed several cloud providers and found that they were unable to match Pronto’s solution, expertise and ability to meet our requirements.”

“We wanted to avoid new hardware, as well as having to manage databases and operating systems in-house. Pronto’s managed service really stood out in this regard and they are already viewed as an extension of our IT team who we can rely on 24/7,” continued Mr Norman.

The web-based user interface offered in Pronto Xi allows Godfreys staff to review product information, customer queries and sales updates from their fingertips, and act faster.

“The team at Pronto have built an excellent understanding of our business, and tailored a system that perfectly meets our needs. The implementation has been very smooth and this is where the benefits of working with the local team who develops, implements and supports their own software really shines through,” said Mr Norman.

“We have also been very impressed with Pronto’s continued innovation, and having had a sneak peek at some of the enhancements in the forthcoming Pronto Xi 740 release, we are excited about the opportunities it will open up for our business,” added Mr Norman.

Chad Gates, Managing Director, Pronto Software, said: “Not only were we able to show that we have a functionally rich retail solution, we were also deemed the best-fit partner in terms of our customer focus, flexibility and local industry expertise. We are pleased to partner with Godfreys, supporting their vision of leveraging technology for innovation and to improve efficiency for on-going growth.”

Godfreys joins a growing number of leading retailers adopting Pronto Xi as their ERP provider of choice, including Vic’s Meat, Nike, Petstock, Inspirations Paint, Gasweld and The Co-op.
